JimyLongs

JimyLongs is a brand that specializes in creating high-quality lockpicks for professional lock pickers and enthusiasts. The founder of JimyLongs started this project at the beginning of the pandemic with the goal of creating a feasible process for making lockpicks with as little manual labor as possible. He dove into a variety of areas that he had no prior experience in, including metallurgy, lasers, mold making, plastics, injection machines, pneumatics, and Finite Element Analysis.

The lockpicks were sent out to some of the best lock pickers in the world to receive feedback on their design. Based on this feedback, the design was altered and sent back out for further feedback. This iterative process helped the founder to think outside of the box in some areas and ultimately resulted in the creation of high-quality lockpicks with excellent feedback.

One example of the founder's dedication to creating the best lockpicks possible is their use of High Yield Stainless 301. Initially, the founder did not have access to this material and used Finite Element Analysis to tune the profiles of the lockpicks to provide better feedback while still using 301 full hard SS. Once a source for the HY 301 was found, the lockpicks were even better.
